roof windows

Which is better from a lighting point of view - one large roof window, 980mm deep x 560, or 2 smaller, 550 mm deep x 450mm, set a short distance apart? Price is the much the same, but i suppose the two smaller would give better ventilation. The loft floor is boarded and the rafters covered and painted to house a grown-up train set! The space is not habitable, access by removeable ladder.

I went for one large window (2.4x1.2) rather than a row of smaller ones, simply because the larger one could be deigned to fit in a more pleasing way, and it was much much cheeper.
