Just bought one about a month ago from Rapid Electronics (seven quid orthereabouts; I was buying other stuff anyway).Great little device, in my limited experience of it.My missus has been craving for some decent "patio furniture" and she hasspotted some stuff in Safeway (now "Morrisons"). At £150 for five pieces offurniture my presumption is that it would be stick-thin pine that would lastone winter.A few days ago (once they managed to pump put the store... just kidding) Safewaydecided that summer was over hence the furniture came down to £99 which broughtit into my radar as "probably worth the money now even if it lasts two years".The "pine" presumption was wrong as the furniture claims to be Malaysianhardwood such as "Meranti", "Durian" and "Membatu" (any folks more conversantin these types of wood please comment).I've spent a few hours assembling the furniture (well, using glue in addition tothe supplied screws) but most of this time was in using Teak Oil to protect thewood.Having left it to dry overnight, I've cut some rectangles of damp-proof-courseplastic to act as feet for the furniture, and the glue gun is brilliant atsticking this plastic.Previously I had used staples to nail the plastic to the feet, but thisprovides a path for dampness to travel. The glueing is great to avoid that.So that's my tip for the glue gun - use it to stop water being drawn up thefeet of any outdoor wooden furniture.Mungo

I've also found a dab of hot melt useful for securing the hooks in peg board
