Radiator

Radiator comes on very hot when the boiler is turned on, they goes virtually off. Tried bledding it but it still goes cold. If I play with the control blue it sometimes goes very hot again but never fior long. All other radiators are always very hot

Has it got a thermostatic radiator valve on it?

If the room is warm when the rad goes off, then that is just the TRV doing what its supposed to. If its still cold in the room, then ti sounds like the might be faulty.

You could simply take the head off the valve and verify that it stays hot all the time. You should be able to buy a new valve head and just use that rather than needing to swap the whole valve body.

Bleeding only works if the radiator just gets partially hot. If it stops working totally, there is no water circulating to it. What you probably need to do is key down all the other rads to increase the flow to that one. Google balancing radiators.

Or just remove the head, and move the pin up and down a few times, maybe with a pair of pliers. Sometimes they stick with lack of use, and need some encouragement to work properly again.

I'm wondering if you have an airlock.

I might close all the radiators down, and allow all the flow through the offending radiator, encouraging any air to flow into this radiator which can then be released.

That would be the case if it never got hot - but the fact it can change suggests the "wet" bit of the valve must be working.

True. But it would do no harm to check anyway.
