Dishwasher tripping RCD

Three year old Miele dishwasher has started tripping the RCD on the main kitchen circuit. Have plugged it into another socket in the hallway and it's working fine without tripping the fuse on that circuit. Is this worth trying to troubleshoot - and how - or will we need the Miele engineer - as it's only one year out of guarantee may be able to argue sale of goods act. Thanks all.

It could be something as simple as a loose connection in the socket it is plugged into.

does that mean the 2nd is a non RCDed circuit?

of course. Prime suspect is water heating element. Try running it with that disconnected.

Depends on your ability

Being Miele it should last the full 6 years.

Yes - not good I know but I just want to get the stuff washed... Nearly finished.

It tripped too from a counter socket on the same RCD ring.

Is that easy to get at?

I've just seen that the kitchen tap which is next to it has been leaking so maybe the machine has got some damp issues...

Could be electrical leaks somewhere. On my old Smeg DW I found some previo us service engineer had disconnected the earth wire to the drain motor's ca sting. On reconnecting it and testing, the RCD tripped out instantly. Due to many years of unfixed water leaks the visible motor windings were total ly impregnated with soap/salt etc and this caused electric leakage to the m otor frame.
