U-Pol fantastic has been used on my wooden sash windows, maybe because of contacts with the local car body repair shop ! Result has been very good.
"Shop" sliced loaves don't seem to stick. Home made I check every two hours or so and separate them with a knife until they are completely frozen.
Shop around my way are starting to put signs up saying no £20 and £50 notes. That probably means too many forgeries of the new plastic notes.

A fabric shop may have knitted cloth dollies(?). They are attractive when placed under glass. Various sizes..ovals..rectangular, etc. I agree the felt pads are best.
