Fortunately our local man knows the site and has inspected similar foundation holes within about 15m. I'll invite comment anyway. The chap I have in mind did some calculations for foundations and a steel frame to support a nearby timber barn so he may not need to visit.

I was thinking of a pawn shop. Don't bands pawn these things when they break up, or decide to do without frills?
A good radiator shop can repair the plastic tank welds to the core unless the tanks are really bad.
Any shop that makes doors and windows can that. You will pay extra but hey if it saves yo loads of work go for it.
I've taken a picture of the watermarking but hadn't thought of taking it to a tile shop. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll give it a try.
A 1 HP exhaust fan sounds a bit hairy for the typical shop. Are there some unusual reasons you need such a beast? Just curious. Joe
