Simple question r.e.: Power Strip into Circuit Panel

Power Strip into Circuit Panel

I have a 14AWG power strip with ground, 6' cord, 6 outlets.

Is it permissble to remove the plug and wire the strip directly into circuit breaker panel?

I cannot find mention of doing/not doing this ANYWHERE on this terrific thing called the internet, so a response would be appreciated. Is it NEC permitted, or not? Thanks

No it is not. First of all, it is fine flexible cord that the breaker is not designed to rake. Second it is not approved as a direcct connected device. Third, you would need an approved strain-relief entry bushing to put the wire into the panel. Just wrong in so many ways.

Bypassing the breakers? Nobody could be that stupid.

Actually I've thought "Nobody could be that stupid" about other things before, and have been proven wrong.

NO! That power strip is made to be plugged into an electrical receptacle outlet only. The insulation on the cord is not rated for a permanent installation. You can install an electrical receptacle at the panel and plug the strip into that.
