Framed interior non-load bearing wall. Sheet rocked it. Found that studs are a bit wider than the top plate, meaning that the rock doesn't meet the top plate.
Screws put into the top plate will flex the sheet rock a little, then pop through as the rock resists and flexes back.
What would you do?
- Not put any screws into the header?
- Put screws into the header but not deep, cover with lots of mud and tape?
- Other solution?
Thanks,
