Plastic bag dimenstions, why is nothin' simple anymore

30 Gal (113.6L)

2 FT/PI 6 IN/PO x 2 FT/PI 8 IN/PO x 1.05 MIL (76.2 cm x 81.3 cm x 26.7 um)

In the first line, what does PI and PO mean?

In the second line, um is the best I can do for micro meter. Why is 1.05 MIL not equal to 1050 um? NEVER MIND. A mil is 1/1000 of an inch.

mm:

"Pied" is French for "foot" and "pouce" is French for "inch", so pi and po are abreviations for the words pied and pouce, respectively.

So, 2 FT/PI 6 IN/PO x 2 FT/PI 8 IN/PO x 1.05 MIL

is bilingual for 2'6" X 2'8"

They use the english letter "u" to mean "micro" because it looks the closest to the greek letter mu, which is the proper symbol for

1/1,000,000th.

That box of garbage bags must have been produced in Canada. In the US, any information is normally printed in English and Spanish instead of English and French. And, it's only French speaking Canadians that would use the terms "pied" and "pouce" since France uses the metric system.

In pharmaceuticals, "mcg" means "microgram" because a handwritten "ug" could be read as "mg."
