This is the most fascinating thing about this ivy. Every June, the seed pods burst open expelling seed and hitting the leaves below the cluster. When i first heard this years ago on a quiet, warm June evening i thought it was grasshoppers munching on the leaves, then i thought it was raindrops. After some sleuthing, i could see the seeds coming out of the pods. Nature never ceases to amaze. Don't plant Bosotn Ivy just because of this! It needs a good long wall away from any structures, as the branches and pads can cause damage.
