New door frames are not fitting?

Hello everyone.

I went to a see a newly decorated house the other day which appeared to have new doors and frames fitted, on closer inspection the doors did not close properly.

The house is unoccupied / not heated and the make-over was finished approx 2 months ago.

The house is a 1920's semi-detached

One of the lintels appeared a little off horizontal indicating movement perhaps? There are some small cracks on external walls.

As the door woodwork is recent, one would have thought that they would all close properly. So, either the house is moving rapidly to put the door's out or the timber is expanding due to the cold and damp weather?

Does anybody know what the most likely explanation for the above could be?

Many thanks :-)

This isn't the house in Cornwall with a mine shaft underneath it by any chance?

Failing that I would say possibly the timber has been lying around on site in the rain and all manner of warping is now going on as it dries out.
