G10 FR4 insulation boards are not suitable for roofing. Here's why:

- Thermal Insulation: While G10 FR4 has some insulating properties, it’s not designed to provide the level of thermal insulation needed for roofing. Roofing materials typically need to provide substantial thermal resistance to help with energy efficiency, which G10 FR4 does not offer.
- Moisture Resistance: Although G10 FR4 has good moisture resistance, roofing materials must also have a certain degree of breathability or vapor permeability to prevent issues like condensation, which G10 FR4 does not address.
- Weight and Flexibility: Roofing materials must be light enough to be supported by the structure of the building and flexible enough to accommodate shifts and movement. G10 FR4 is rigid and relatively heavy, making it unsuitable for roofing applications.
- Cost: G10 FR4 is typically more expensive than materials commonly used in roofing, such as asphalt shingles, metal, or synthetic membranes. This makes it an impractical choice for roofing from a cost perspective.
For roofing, you should consider materials specifically designed for that purpose, such as asphalt shingles, metal roofing, clay or concrete tiles, or synthetic roofing membranes like EPDM or TPO, depending on the climate and specific needs of your project.
