Google has acquired that You-tube style predictive searching.

I turned it off on day one and it's never appeared since.

on a related note, I've just been searching through google's shopping pages for some boots and after noting a few prices, decided to try yahoo shopping (kelkoo) seeing as they deal with different suppliers....I put up with it for about 5 minutes and closed it down - there's that many flashing adverts that each page takes over a minute and half to load, and the majority of the results were pink wellies with ducks on.

And you *must* have cookies enabled to do so - which I have disabled to prevent Google profiling my search requests BTW.

Ah well, I'll just use Firefox rather the IE, as it automatically stops this abomination that Google has decided to add.

Google shopping seems to be chock full of foreign suppliers, wrong prices (when you go to the site it is significantly higher than listed), and ebay-style descriptions (worded to be found rather than accurate), repeated entries for same product/supplier (maybe some subtle changes), multiple listings for traders using multiple trading-as names, etc.

In other words, gone from very useful to hard work. And at least sometimes in breach of Google's conditions.
