aggravating web stores

2nd run in with a place[two different places] that wants special treatment from the credit card company, like some conglomerate cares what they want. have a billing address that is a po box, and obviously ship to a different address. Do this dozens of times a month. Only the craziest lowest on the food chain merchants[who must get ripped off a lot or something] want to get the address 'approved' by the credit card company. CC company[BOA} has no idea what they are talking about. No clue. So they cannot 'approve' the address. So the order sits pending. clueless customer service does not know what to do.

Twice I have just gone to another place that has a normal order procedure, first time it was actually cheaper.

Use DKhardware instead of glassw@repro. A few pennies more but less aggravation

seriously, 100k in use on 2 different cards, never have the issue but

2 times, both ended up being morons, go figure

Any time you're dealing with big finance the ball is never in your court. Find yourself a local credit union and obtain a charge card through them. Even though they might not process the cards themselves you most likely will NOT have any issues/problems.

Google something like "shipping to po box credit card"

You'll get hits for info like this::

=3D=3D=3D

  1. Shipping must be to the person and address that are on file with the credit card issuer. If you need to have the parts shipped to an address that is not listed with your credit card company, please call your credit card company and ask them to add the address as an "alternate" or "secondary" billing address. That way we can call them and verify that it is a good address to ship to. It only takes about 5 minutes on the phone for you, 99% of the credit card companies will do this. Then we can ship it to your work or where your wife works. This will help you with buying from other places too. If for some reason you can not do this, send a money order, then we can ship anywhere since the parts will be pre paid. =3D=3D=3D

This one is kind of funny...

=3D=3D=3D Shipping - All shipments will be sent by UPS whenever possible. UPS can not deliver to P.O. Boxes. We must have a physical street address. If your credit card billing address is a PO box, you will need to add your street address to your credit card as an alternate/secondary address. Most banks are willing to do this, and once you have added the information you'll let me know and I can call and verify it (except Wells Fargo or Pay Pal credit cards, they won't verify anything - sorry. We hate them, and suggest a different credit card or a money order), then we can ship the order out. =3D=3D=3D

1st Time Orders - CCOT will only ship parts to address that is registered and on file with your Credit Card Company, typically your Card's Billing address.

CCOT uses the AVS (Credit Card Address Verification System) as our primary defense against fraudulent Orders and "Identity Theft". Fraudulant Orders have been on the Rise...

AVS electronically matches your Credit Card number to the address on file with your Credit Card Company. If your Order's shipping address does not match the address on file with your Credit Card Company, then your Order will automatically be placed On Hold until ship to address is registered with your Credit Card company or you decide to ship parts to your Credit Card's billing address.

Customers who have a P.O. Box as a Billing address must register their physical shipping address (street address) with their Credit Card Company or AVS will place Order on hold. UPS will not ship to a P.O. Box. CCOT does not ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO or international addresses. =3D=3D=3D

Once I ordered a gift to another address. The company called me to verify it was really me,etc. They had some way of knowing what kind of car I own. That's creepy. So they ask, do you own a Toyota and I don't so I said NO. They they ask the real brand and I say YES. They allowed the transaction and gift was sent.

However, just last week some idiot overseas captured my CC # somehwere and charged all this stuff to my account and it all went thru to my card. I'm in process of getting it all fixed. geesh, how stupid it that!

Actually, no they don't have to. BOA has no such policy[per them ], and by the way there is no such thing as a five minute conversation with them. maybe five minutes to drill through the voicemail. Major nuisance.

not a newbie here, ordered many many things from many many suppliers with no problem. the only thing you need to have is the correct zip for the billing address.

this is just poor customer service nothing else
