We have some spearmint and peppermint plants for teas etc - they appear to be getting eaten by bugs. Any suggestions on organic/safe pesticides/treatments we can try to keep them safe? We like to pick them off the plant and eat at a moments notice. (Avoiding, of course, the spots the dogs pee on) :-)
Try organic pyrethrum spray
it is best to identify the bugs in question before anything else.
one of the basic ideas behind organic methods is trying to understand the whole system so that it can be adjusted in the easiest way possible.
it might be the case that the bugs you are trying to control can be managed by planting other plants to attract the bug predators or to improve the area in some other manner to make the bugs less likely to have population booms.
