It failed to proceed today. Standby LED is flashing twice in groups of five, then repeating. But other than that, no signs of life.
Bit of Googling says it is likely the usual PS fault of a failed cap or two.
Not yet found the receipt, but it might still be (just) within warranty. But even if it is, would be easier to repair it here at home, if just a cap or two.
If the world were full of intelligent men, instead of people like you, the two would be synonymous.
Let me explain the basic principles of the free market. People buy quality at the lowest price they can get away with paying, and manufacturers make quality sufficient to achieve a sale at the lowest price they can afford to pay.
If either cant afford the quality at all, the thing never gets made.
If the world is flooded with cheap crap its only because people now
-thanks to socialism - have more money than sense.
I don't know why so many kids buy apple phones, it really is just a fashion accessory as they don't use any of the smart features. Its like when they have to buy a certain type of shoe from a particular shop or they get the micky taken out of them by the others. Its not exactly a sign of intelligence.
The last two phones I bought were last years Sony, cheaper than the current one and water proof unlike iphones. They also happen to outperform the iphones too.
You know what everyone uses ? I klnow a blackberry users who's really proubd that he;'s phones LED flashes a differnt colour depending on wqho's calling. H's friend said but you're colour blind you can't tell anyway which is true and he won;t buy an Apple phone because it is Apple and wants to go against the trend(ies).
True but those I knopw that have i[phones brought them because they were im pressed by how well they worked compared to others. I also get this from a PC user, so it's not a platform thing.
I'd believe that if I saw it. As a PC user friend said he didn;t know what he was missing until he got an iphone as his previous phone didn;t show som e graphic files from a book he brought. He didn't realise they existed unti l he looked at the same think on the iphone.

As for being waterproof if you go swimming with your' phone or like droppin g it in toilets then don't get a phone get a clue on how to hold them.
Well it's not a faulty cap. Or schottky diode. Or a opto coupler. So I'm a bit lost in the absence of a circuit diagram to attempt to power it up off the TV, and check the various voltages. Of course it may not be the PS at all.
Always possible the mainboard is dead. Bastard things are almost impossible to troubleshoot unless a FET removes itself in a cloud of black smoke, etc.
But Ebay is a hotbed of spare boards from TVs which might be worth a punt to try and save it.
