OT (Butane G/H to Watts conversion)

Hi,

I am trying to compare two camping stoves. One specifies it's output as 70 grammes per hour per burner, and the other as 2Kw per burner.

Can anyone tell me how to convert g/h to watts or vice versa so as I can compare them?

Thanks

Loading thread data ...

Butane calorific value (LHV?)= 49.6MJ/kg therefore 70 grammes contains ~3.5MJ

3600 seconds in an hour so this is approx 0.96kJ per second which is 0.96kW(t)

wood is cheaper ;-)

Multiply by 13.7 to get Watts. The 70 g/h stove is around 960 W

Thanks for that, I had worked out in the meantime that they must be round the 1Kw mark, but it's good to have it confirmed!
