Yes, but that's not within the scope of 'easily' (yes, I know it's easy)

1) They use the money as an interest free loan that funds their business (google:working capital). 2) Assuming 2% inflation over 6 years, in 2026 you will need approx £112 to buy what cost you £100 in 2020. Put another way, £100 in 2026, will have the purchasing power of £88 in 2020. So in real terms they will be paying back less than they received.
The broadcaster should do that for you.
On my 55" the resolution change is not dramatic. The HDR is though.
(especially once I changed the default settings on the Blueray player to tell it what the maximum brightness the screen could cope with with HDR content was about double the conservative setting it had defaulted to).
No, it's "Little Willy" that he objects to ;-)
I just managed to sort out two problems on the weekend. Problem 1 was the ancient Sony FM radio making thrumbing noises when turned off. Problem 2 was my 35 YO Sony recording walkman that had stretched its belts, making everything sound very slowwwww.
In the BHF charity shop I found a Phillips stereo radio/cassette 'getto blaster' (AQ5150, but not a massive one) for £10.
Stereo FM radio is perfect (also has AM and LW). Cassette player works perfectly. It has a headphone socket so I should be able to digitise the rest of my collection of language cassettes and BBC tapes of "I'm sorry I haven't a clue".
They gave me a receipt, but for £10 what do you expect ?. I tried it in the shop and it worked fine so I won't be back for a refund or 'trade in'. This one is a keeper, until it fails.
But for some reason, old films show black bands on either side on BBC SD while the HD channels stretch the picture to fill the whole width (or is it the other way round?).
But they do also tend to use a lot more power as well. Something that intensive goggle-boxers don't realise.
4K monitors for computers noticibly so.
Do you not find that HDR (over zealous use of) makes the picture look rather articial and 'digital' ?.

This may be a Panasonic marketing strategy but they seem to have distanced themselves from broadcasters:-(
I'm not sure the instruction makes it through the recorder anyway.
Fortunately there is an aspect ratio button on the handset.

Don't think that was meant in this case.
It always had downsides too.
It depends on how close you sit to the TV. Everyone would see the difference between SD and HD on their computer - unless they have faulty sight.
It varies sometime on the same channel.
But the idea of morphing a 4:3 original into 16:9 is flawed for so many reasons.
If you wish to do this at home, fairy nuff. But not broadcast like that.
Could count the number of times I've used it on one hand. When one of the minority channels has transmitted the wrong flag.
Hmmm, handy! Is a "downgrade" possible?
Not on mine... I quite like how it adds to the realism.
Having said that I have seen some HDR setups where they tend to have a somewhat over sharpened look which is less appealing.
Yes they do.

Do any have scart now?
My approx 2 year old Panny does. But then I looked for one which did. Sadly, no analogue audio output other than the headphone socket. Although I haven't checked if there is a suitable one on the SCART.
Many have optical audio out. I found with our bedroom one (Hisense) I needed to use a TOSLink to audio adaptor to feed its audio to the hifi.
