A very expensive renovation project that required like-for-like replacement of failed 150 yearold unreplaceable architectural tiles, well not off the shelf replacement. At the very top of the building are
2 of these tiles with 2 impressed names in them, on the front face, only just readable with optical x10 camera and enlargement . One is the building company name that still does a lot of such prestigious difficult projects but their records/personel do not go back far enough apparently , about 40 years. What would be the likely profession/trade of the other name? incidently "G Bradshaw" if anyone should happen to recognise the name in such a context. Googling has not found any suitable identities. As the names are impressed in the leather stage of the tiles, I suspect the name of a potter/kilnworks , that is prepared to do one-off jobs. But could it be project leader for the multinational owner of the building/consultant/planning official or what? if there should be some sort of recognised protocol for such "signings". It is not the name of the individual workman, solely trusted to do such a difficult job, who fixed all these tiles, as his identity is known but now dead.- posted
