Shop around for a new machine with a 5 year warranty and treat as disposable they don?t last these days.

So you ruin a couple of shop-vacs for the project. Still cheaper, faster, and less labor intensive than a shovel.
If it is only once in a while, maybe you can get them to let you do it at the shop?
