i was just thinkin... :)
there's a moderated social group that used to get a lot
more traffic before than it does now and a lot of the
more general topics could easily go there instead. it
was set up quite some years back when soc.singles got too
crazy with crossposted gunk and then it has faded because
most of the regulars found people and everyone else went
off to LJ, FB, etc.
soc.singles.moderated, it is auto moderated (that means
other than crossposts and random posts you shouldn't be
filtered at all). the only cross posts it actually allows
are to the soc.singles group (which i no longer read at
the first post you make to the group puts your id
in the database and bounces the post back to you to make
sure you want to join and from then on you should not need
to do anything unless you change your id.
if you want to avoid even that first bounce you
can put the word ne*ma*tode in the subject line (de *
the word first).
oh, yeah, the charter says that you can post there
if you ever have been or are single. :) so it isn't
really for just single people, it was quite fun years
ago. i miss that old community we had.
