My Moenstone sink just cracked when I drained boiling water through a colander. (2023 Update)

While draining boiling water, we heard a loud POP! and my Moenstone sink had cracked. The crack goes all the way through to the underside--you can see light through it! Two questions: Has anyone had this happen and gotten any remedy from Moen? And second, Moenstone sinks are discontinued. Is there another sink of the same dimensions?

This is an undermount 33" x 22" sink with a curved back edge. And it's installed in my granite countertops. I'm just sick.

Just had the same thing happen on a 14 year old sink. I was given a settlement choice but most likely will have to pay to recut granite. They gave us $650 credit on a new Moen sink or $300 cash to walk. Am searching for any sink that is close.

Same thing happened to me draining the boiling water off of potatoes, I have been putting off replacing since 2014, just using the other half of the sink. What did you end up doing for a fix? Custom Stainless sink built or what sink did you end up buying to fit a new granite cut?

I had the exact same issue with my Moenstone and it is leaking all the way through. My granite was put in with the sink and do not want to replace. did they do anything for you?

they offered me a new stainless sink up to 750.00. They did not have any sinks that would fit the hole even if I spent 2000.00. I think they ended up sending me a check for around 180.00. basically nothing toward the huge problem and cost their oddball sink caused. I ended up buying a Kohler Vault style sink - K-3820-3 NA to fit, we needed 3 holes. I had it undermounted so there is a flat reveal around the edges of the granite. about 3/8" on the front and sides and larger in the back where the granite curves out. I just barely covered the pre-punched holes. I had to cut out the fauset / sprayer/ water on/of handle holes larger to match up with the holes in the granite. you can get the same sink with 1, 2 and 4 holes. I don't know if the 4 hole would work or the hole would not be in the right spot to be covered by granite or be centered in the flat far enough from the edge to be able to use it. I took out the old sink myself and pre fit the new sink and modified the holes to match the holes in the granite the same morning as I scheduled a plumber to install the sink.
