How much should a new gas furnace cost

Can you tell us more about the furnace that's being offered? it would be hard for anyone to make any suggestion or comment about the price without seeing what is it that they are selling. A manufacturer, model number, job description and any special circumstances noted in the quote are needed for an answer that would make any sense price-wise.

You can always add more information to your question using the "Add New Comment" form on this page, and it also lets you post pictures if you have any - always helps with better answers.

I was given a quote of $3500.00 for a new gas furnace with installation. My furnace went out three days ago. and the repair name gave me this quote.

Home Owner is correct. When replacing an older furnace with a new high eff. unit you mayy need some duct modifications also. We need to know the detail of what they actually quoted. Alos, you need tto get a least three quotes ftom different HVAC contractors.

$4,000.00 for a 2 ton system is a good price. I just installed a 2 ton heat pump and it was close to 4,000.00. Also had to install duct work and registers. This was a complete new install and the total was $6,500.00.
