STILL AT'NT DEAD

To keep woodworking somewhere in there, tracked this down the other day.http://www.popularmechanics.com/home_improvement/furniture/1273026.html
Reason being, I wanted a few measurements from it. I'm planning on making a gun chest - don' need no steenkin' plans, but no need to reinvent the wheel either. Need a place to park my shotgun - it's summer, lots of new lawyers on the loose, and it's rabies season - never can tell when you might get attacked by a rabid lawyer. LOL
Well, the Luv project has slowed down a bit. Is that possible? Seems the kid is looking for a larger place, so put his up for sale. Ah well. Children, you gotta love 'em - because you sure can't get rid of 'em.
But, on a positive side, coming up with some positive ideas for the Dub project. Figured out I should be able to lighten it maybe another 200 lbs; plus came up with some ways to do some mods easier, faster, and cheaper, than I'd figured. Once the garage is up, should be able to get on it first thing. The garage is slow going, but going. I've been watching Monster Garage, for ideas, and actually got some. LOL If the Dub was done on there, I figure it would take about a day, start to finish, max two. It isn't gonna be a rat rod, but it will be a bit crude, and rude.
Then once I have free space, planing on a boat. Just need to decide which one I want most.
For a long time I've wanted to make a telescope. Dobsonian. But, all the plans I looked at were complicated, and confusing. Then a few months back I got a book oneBay, "Build Your Own Telescopes". Less than $10, including shipping. Simple plans, and easy to understand. Building should be no problem. Wood, of course. I'm gonna try to squeeze one in after the Dub, use it for awhile, then either give it to the grand-dau, or just keep it, and make one for her and her dad to put together. One plan is supposedly simple enough for a pre-teen to put together (4" f/10 refector), so they should have no problems.
The older son, and his family, went to visit his mother, her dime. Otherwise he never would have gone. Long story. But, he was able to relax some, and mostly had a pretty good time. From the pictures they brought back, it would appear the ex had a boob job. That made my dau-in-law almost hysterical when she heard that. The ex doesn't care much for her, and vice versa. Another long story. She told the ex I had said I wanted to come along (I hadn't), and apparently the ex didn't care much for that idea. LOL I had been of the mind to never go out there - but now I'm very open to maybe making a trip out there. Just to say hi. Hehehehe Me and the dau-in-law get along just fine by the way.
Probably drop by the older son's place tomorrow. Found a pre-boob picture of the ex I wanna give the dau-in-law, and maybe buy a lawnmower, for the son, as an early birthday present, or give him the money to buy his own.
I think I've finally decided on a design for the new Tiki too. I'm gonna double check, but think I'm good to go. I'll take a picture, once it's painted.
Had started feeling bad for awhile. But, had started drinking coffee several times a day again. So, stopped the coffe, and feel good again. Strange. Used to almost survive on coffee in the Army. Maybe all those years, and some really bad coffee, made me sensitive to it. Used to smoke 5+ packs of cigarettes a day (quit about 30+ years ago), and now very sensitive, if not allergic, to tobacco smoke. Maybe something similar with coffee. I think I won't test the theory, I'll just stay away from coffee. So, if anyone in the area ever wants to meet for coffe, I'll stick to tea. Other than that, not bad - losing a bit of weight, and meditation keeps the headache down. Life is still basically good.
Later.

Cool. Thanks. :-) Not bad here. Hot, muggy, hard to work up motivation to get out there in the shop. Projects off schedule. Don't care. Otherwise, not bad.

Hey Joat: Post those pictures over on a.b.p.w. Some of us here have expertise in that area. ;-)

Hey, let's take a left hand turn here and move from boob jobs to coffee. I've been drinking more coffee than usual and wonder if it's been bothering me, too. I'm not a caffiene junkie usually but love iced coffee, little milk, one sugar and I think I'm good to go in this weather.
1. Hot coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream - try it!
2. 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups cold coffee, 1 tray of ice cubes into the blender on high until getting smooth. Add two tablespoons sweetened condensed milk, blend and pour into a large cup or canning jar. Eat with spoon or drink with large straw.
3. 1 cup cold coffee, two tablespoons Hershy's Chocolate Syrup, tray of ice cubes and stir. Might not sound like something that will put hair on your chest but how many of you guys still need more hair?
4. 1 cup cold coffee, 2 ounces (or two squirts) of pre-sweetened or sugar free American Vanilla syrup, or caramel syrup, or toffee syrup and the ever popular tray of ice cubes.
What's your summer treat drink?

I don't know, is it bothering you? LOL I used to drink coffee all day long in the Army. Don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. What I do know is, if I don't drink coffee, I definitely feel better.
Try half hot coffee, half hot milk.
My summer drink? Used to be hot coffee. Now it's hot tea.

For Joat and others who are not happy with coffee and its effects (affects?) try iced tea, decaffinated or regular. You can still ice the stuff up in the blender and get a "Slurpie" kinda thing going.
1. Add syrup like lemon-lime (two squirts or 2 ounces) to get a different taste.
2. Add syrup like raspberry or strawberry for another different taste.
3. Too bad you can't add chocolate to tea but most of you are men so the chocolate isn't quite as important anyway.
The other really nice thing about tea, cold tea, is that you can put some in a spray bottle for a cooling spray that smells pretty good, none of that sissy, unmanly after shower spray that you buy from the stores. Towel off your back, arms and face and spray on a light coating. Leave out the sugar.

You saying a gurl would prefer that smell over Old Spice? Anyway, I never use sugar in cold tea.

Yep, especially in the summer and especially Old Spice.
My mother used to mix sugar and water as a hair tonic for my brothers. Kept their hair in place and had a nice shine, too.
You know, a couple of changes here and there?

And I used to hope the ants would get them, but they still insist they were not bothered by either. They probably didn't smell right to begin (!) with and the sugar wasn't enough to make the bees and ants take risks.

/ C G D A E EE7 E - / :
I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady now You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man Huh, and that ain't to cool
Hey Joe, I heard you shot your woman down You shot her down down Hey Joe, I heard you shot your lady down You shot her down to the ground
Yes, I did, I shot her You know I caught her messin' 'round, messin' 'round town Yes, I did, I shot her You know I caught my old lady messin' 'round the town And I gave her the gun, I shot her
Hey Joe, where you gonna run to now Where you gonna run to Hey Joe, I said, where you gonna run to now Where you, where you gonna go
Well dig it I'm goin' way down south Way down Mexico way, alright I'm goin' way down south Way down where I can be free Ain't no one gonna find me Ain't no hangman gonna find me He ain't gonna put a rope around me You better believe it right now Hey Joe, you better run on down Goodbye, everybody |- that much.
