Robin Hartl: The REAL story about leaving Hometime

Why did Robin Hartl REALLY leave the PBS home improvement TV series 'Hometime'? Does it anything to do w/ those Little Giant Ladder infomercials she does and the fact that she wanted to continue doing more of them (but w/ 'Home Improvement' star Richard Karn, since co-star Dean Johnson wanted to continue doing more seasons of "H" and their contracts wouldn't allow them to do both) or w/ the rumor that she's a chronic alcoholic who constantly came to work drunk and secretly regularly drank on the job??? The IMDb (Internet Movie Database) doesn't have any detailed and/or updated information on her. Thanks! :-)

The Hometime website has posted a story announcing that Hometime co-host Robin Hartl has left the show after 12 years with the program. The posting states that since programs have been taped in advanced, she will continue appearing in episodes during the early part of 2005. To read the news story, go to:

Separately, Little Giant Ladders announced that Hartl has signed a long term promotional contract with that company. Hartl's relationship with Little Giant began in late 2003 when she and Dean Johnson (Hartl's co-host of "Hometime") shot an infomercial for Little Giant Ladder Systems, which began airing in early 2004 and rapidly became the top ranked infomercial in the country.

Former "Home Improvement" Tim Allen sidekick Richard Kan (Al Borland) will join Hartl as spokesperson for the brand.
