Very good idea. they are essentialy the same though the one for metal is designed with non-melt, non flamable material and the pivots are sheilded beterr. Nothing will wear out a tool faster than grinding dust. Rent the chopsaw. BTW, most chopsaws do miter.

A metal chop saw is probably something you could find at harbor freight pretty cheap. It wouldn't need to be great for a one time project like that.
