oil finish blend, wax crystals ?

I was applying a 1/3 linseed (home depot), 1/3tung(Behlen pure), 1/3 poly (minwax 4 hour gloss), after the third coat I didn't wipe off the excess in time. It appeared to dry as a sheet of glass but one side edge has what appears to be waxy crystaline deposits. The side that is messed up was in the location where the most air would circulate. I am curious what the goo might be, it feels like wax. I sanded it off, clogging many sheets of paper. I'm reluctant to proceed with more finish. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I'm totally puzzled every time this particular formula comes up. Now, 1/3 each varnish, oil (of your choice), and thinner (mineral spirits makes sense as a home brew. for a hand rubbed oil finish look with a bit more protection then just the oil would give. The thinner and the low ratio resins from the varnish giving better penetration of both the oil and resins. .

However two oils and a varnish that is already a mix of thinner, resins and yet another oil? What I see is a thick gooey mess that, with the very small ratio of thinner, will have minimal penetration leaving most of resins, that would normally soak into the wood with a thinner mix, left to be wiped off and no particular benefit in appearance and or especially protection.

To my mind it's a miracle that the worst you have is crystals.
