Minwax High-Build Polyurethane opinions wanted

I was wondering if there were any opinions about this stuff:

clear, oil-based, durable protective finish that is specially formulated to provide long-lasting beauty and protection with just two coats.

I have never used it, but for no reason that I can explain, I tend to believe that it's targeted towards someone who is refinishing a floor, and therefore would not tend to buy it for my other needs. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with it or can say that they would use it on furniture, etc.

Yes I have used this. I like it mostly for making my own wipe on poly. I mix it about 3 parts mineral spirits to one part poly. This stuff is thick.

The one time I sprayed with it I turned a beautiful set of Cherry coffee table and two end tables into what felt (to me) like a big hunk of plastic. I had some trouble getting it to flatten on the table tops so I ended up wet sanding with mineral spirits building up a slurry of poly and solvent. I recoated it and had to do it again. It was so thick and flat it was just like plastic when I was done.

I actually offered to rebuild the whole set for my customer but they assured me they really liked it and paid in full.

I should have followed my own rule of never "try> I was wondering if there were any opinions about this stuff:

I'm asking bacause I can't seem to find any of the regular non high build formula in the gallon sized in the stores. Is there something else similiar that I can use if I want to buy it by the gallon?
