Their server may be down.
"ping mcfeelys.com" results in "request timed out" instead of "unknown host".

I got a catalogue in the mail just a couple of days ago.
bynot responds:
Last I looked, they were in Lynchburg, VA. I cannot even think of a rationale for Jim Ray moving them to Buffalo. Site is up and working. Did you try

Doesn't mean they didn't have their web servers in NY though. Lots of sites are still knackered, even today.
Received my McFeely's catalog Thursday. Ordered on line yesterday. Received an order confirmation email this morning. If they're out of business they're still taking money...
Andy Dingley responds:
Read the rest. I tried the site and it worked just fine.

I vaguely recall a similar thread about McFeely's about 6 months ago. Apparently the site was down at _that_ time and some people started to wonder. FWIW.
NeoTrace shows the server to be located in Virginia. It is now reachable from Houston ... wasn't for the better part of the day.
Hmmm, isn't there something else in lynchburg...a square bottle filled with a brown elixer? Mebbe everyone is out enjoying a bit of Mr. Daniels best...
Damn, thought I had sumpin... Just had my detective credentials cancelled....Pat

Wrong state. That's Tennessee. L'burg, VA is the not always happy home of Jerry Falwell, though.

Human beings have amazing ways to rationalize their actions- a dry county with a distillery. Reminds me of the palestinian that was going to put in a casino on palestinian land- before the latest wave of craziness. He accepted that since gambling and drinking alcohol were against the Koran, he'd use israeli's behing the gaming tables and bar. That way, the muslims were "clean". Go figure. Pat
You can drink it there, you cannot buy it there... The employees are given a small amount periodically.
Patrick Mitchel responds:
I think the booze making preceded the dryness. Blue noses take over after a country is totally cured of any wildness...unfortunately. I forget the dates of the Whisky Rebellion, but...ah. 1794. That was a rebellion to beat excise taxes on smaller whisky producers down to what was charged larger producers. IIRC, it was 6 cents a gallon for large distilleries, 9 cents for smaller.
No matter how much things change!

I once bought a pigskin jacket made in Israel. Not against Kosher laws, but still struck me as odd.
