Delta 36-715 10" Hybrid

If anyone is considering buying the Delta 36-715 10" Hybrid with any of the three available fence options you should take a look at the Amazon.com website .... if sales tax is not involved you can get it to the door with the T2 fence for $649.99 Unifence for $749.99 and the Biesemeyer fence for $799. I know opinions run strong both ways on this saw but at these price points it is hard to beat.

After much thought and keeping budget in mind I placed my order for one of these with the T2 fence earlier today. While this choice may not be right for anyone else I think I will be very happy with this saw.

Regards, Charlie

Yup, I got on and signed up for one myself. I'm a little concerned about not going with the beisemeyer fence (went with the T2) but the price was right on the 36-715. I've been using a $100 Craftsman for a couple years so this'll be a huge improvement in all regards. Saw shipped today from Amazon, can't wait! Jeff

I got the "shipped" email Tuesday. It looks like the $150 off promotion has ended on Amazon. Glad to hear someone else got in on the deal. I think you will be pleased with the T2 fence, I got to see one and it looks like it is a winner.

I sorta have a whole story to go with my saw purchase .... like most everyone else I do not have a money tree in the backyard so nothing is as simple as just buying the "best" .... $$ in the budget determines what is "best" at the time .... I had shopped the local Rockler store for some small items a couple of times in the last month and of course I drooled over the real tools while I was there. Quite unexpectedly on the way home SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) told me that since I had been working so much OT she thought I deserved a new tool. She was well aware of the saws I had been looking at so the $$ factor was not something I had to negotiate with her. WOO WHOOO!!!!! Well I went to work trying to determine if I "needed" a $1000+ table saw or if I could be happy with a less expensive table saw and get the Jet 14" bandsaw (on sale at Rockler $350) to keep it company in the garage. I went on a few tool shopping outings and saw several different products and had decided that I would buy the Craftsman 922124 when it went on a good sale (< $800). I went back to Rockler to buy the bandsaw and they had just received some of the Delta 36-715's they were still in the shipping crates and they were selling so fast that Rockler was not even going to unpack them. I was hesitant about the T2 fence and the manager opened one of the "fence" boxes so I could see what I was getting. The fence looks like it is very well made and heavy duty, for me it seemed like a winner ..... and at $799 it was priced where I needed it to be so I could have the table saw and the bansaw. Believe it or not, but it is true, the guy checking out in front of me got the last bandsaw they had in the store so I paid for the table saw and ordered the bandsaw. I was a very happy wood worker. My truck has a bed cover so I could not load the table saw up and take it home that day. No big deal since I was going to have to come back for the bandsaw later this week anyway. Having read several pro and con reviews about the Delta hybrid saw during my "research" phase I got back on the internet and started searching for more user reviews and a new one from Amazon popped up. That is where I found out about the $150 discount (the reviewer actually said he was able to combine discounts and got it to the door for $467 .... wow what a deal ....the deals he mentioned were a little different from what I saw so I called Amazon about combining the free Dewalt sawsall promotion and the $150 discount and they told me it was one or the other, not both). With the discount it made the Delta saw $649.99 to the door (from Amazon) vs $862.92 (out the door from Rockler) for this much difference I just had to see if I could cancel the purchase from Rockler ... to sum it up Rockler was great about it, very nice and very friendly about the whole thing, no restocking fees, everything was handled over the phone. Since I am still buying the Jet 14" bandsaw from Rockler I only feel a little bit guilty about the manager opening the fence box from the table saw for me to look inside then me ending up canceling the sale and going mail order.
