Agent does display binaries

I was mistaken recently when posting about not seeing binaries using Agent. Tech support straightened me out.

Agent doesn't show pics/binaries but can show the raw data. Use a viewer (I use ACDSee) for pics on groups like alt.binaries.pictures.woodworking /a.b.p.furniture. It also uses other externals programs for viewing, such as Acrobat (for .pdf files) and browsers (for websites) via your Windows (primarily) registration.

correct.

Agent has an internal viewer for text only. all other file types must be handled by other applications, and Agent has good tools to assign what gets sent where.

I use acdsee too. great little app...

Agent version 2 is now available and $15 to upgrade. Version 2 Agent seem to be faster. Wish it could support multiple servers.

If you are using Agent, it's worth upgrading to Agent version 2.

My fifteen bucks will cover that upgrade. Anyway, my original $29 investment had give me about nine years of pleasure in the newsgroups.

I use Photoshop and Corel Photo Paint for editing But for plain old viewing, the viewer that comes with Win 2000 and XP works fine.
