Xpelair SL150

I had an Xpelair SL150 installed as part of a complete kitchen refit just under 2 years ago. It has a 2 year guarantee but it was done by a subby to the kitchen installer and I have no paperwork for it. I will ring Xpelair on Monday and see how helpful or otherwise they are.

Reviews suggest this model is pretty unreliable

got any comments or suggestions for an alternative 6 inch extractor? Wall is emulsioned so not a major problem if replacement is slightly different. It is controlled by a remote fused switch. No timers, humidity detectors etc required.

Yes. Discovered stopped. Wiring is intact and neon lights.

Is power actually reaching the fan motor? How competent are you and what equipment do you have to test it?

When turned on there is approx 235v AC across the chocolate block behind the front cover (according to my cheep and ageing multimeter). None of the wires are loose. Neon on the front of the fan glows nicely.

Bearing in mind it is under guarantee I am not going to attempt to take it to bits. I assume it must have gone open circuit. 3A fuse is intact and MCB and RCD did not trip.

Xpelair have now said they will replace it once I have got evidence of when supplied.
