As part of a kitchen refurbishment I will be moving an island electric hob and extractor fan above to the kitchen wall. I suspect (still to trace though) that the wiring for the fan will follow the new shorter route so I will have maybe 4 feet of excess wire, would ir be ok to store the excess in the ceiling void rather than cut and rewire? Also the new cooker will have a gas hob and electric oven, assuming this has already been wired / rated properly (it has a socket at floor level) could I just take this socket and re position on the wall for the new cooker, again there should be excess length when repositioned but could be left under the floor.
Thoughts please as on a very tight budget and I am thinking a relatively simple resiting I could do, but wouldnt attempt much more than that when it comes to electrical.
