Wireless thermometer?

An acquaintance of mine has a new build with a woodburner feeding a second secondary coil in his DHW tank.

He currently goes upstairs to check the tank temperature (via two thermocouple / thermostat pockets) as a guide to how much wood to add to the woodburner.

He'd like a temperature indication downstairs but there isn't an easy run for wires so he asked me if there was a wireless option.

I guess the tank may reach temperatures too high for the thermistors used in "weather station" and "greenhouse" devices but I see there are a number of bluetooth devices for cooking / smoking / barbecues which should be fine. They tend to be battery powered and not suitable for leaving on all the time.

Any suggestions or any other options? I assume he has a smartphone, but the "cooking" devices often have a base station with a display, also some can do two or more channels.

I also have a slight interest myself, I have some wired thermometers on the CH but it would be quite nice to have them logged.

TIA

Have a look at lascar data loggers some are wifi and some usb. They do thermometers but not sure about remote sensor ones. Or make your own with radio data link modules.

Useful link, thanks. Probably a bit expensive for my friend, but I can think of other uses. Duly bookmarked!
