will water hammer be an issue?

If I run a 30m of 20mm blue water pipe from the house to the bottom of the garden and have the supply switched on and off at termination point by a solenoid valve am I likely to have issues with water hammer or might there be enough length of pipe to buffer the effects of instant on/off of the solenoid?

Do you know if the diaphragm is still intact? If it's perished and there's no longer an air cushion, then it wouldn't work as intended.

It's not worked from day one. I've tried increasing the pressure inside with a bicycle pump but that made no difference.

In a sealed section yes.

That doesn't really work, there is no way to maintain the bubble.

Whilst compact I'm not entirely convinced on the longevity of the O-ring based seals. My own preference would be the orange sized diaphragm based ones that have a schrader valve to re-charge if necessary.

I will stand corrected - I did not know they had actual innards - thanks for that!
