What's the right name for this 'mushroom' thingie?

A friend of mine has several 'metal and glass' tables in her conservatory. The glass sits on clear plastic 'mushroom' thingies, which have a little stalk which fits into a hole in the lower (metal) part of the table.

She had a decorator in last week, and he dismantled the tables, to give himself more room to work, and we now find that one of the 'plastic mushrooms' has disappeared. Not knowing the proper name for them makes finding replacements somewhat difficult.

Can anyone help?

A pic would help better?

I suspect the painter was missing one of these things and saw an opertuntity to aquire one but had to have a diversion to throw of the scent of nicking it. :-) After all if he wanted room to work all he had to do was move the tables into the garden, living room...surely that would amount to less time than disassembling them?

Are they definitely mushroom shaped heads and not suckers as my computer desk and also a coffee table both have glass tops and they sit on suckers that sit in holes in the table framework

They are _definitely_ 'mushroom shaped' - or are circular pegs having an expanded end which more-or-less looks like a mushroom if you squint a bit. The 'devices' are intended to secure the hinged 'top' of the table to the pedestal base when the top is in the 'down' (horizontal) position. The 'mushroom part is to provide a griping end to facilitate withdrawal. IMHO, a piece of dowel will suffice to secure the table top. The dowel gave be drifted out when the table needs to be struck-down for moving out of the way.

Castors, rollers, sliders, pads, feet ...a combination of the above will get a list of unavailable parts. Why not just stick a magazine or piece of folded CornFlakes box underneath? Cups, caps, shoes, runners...

Woops! Wrong type of table .... ignore all above!
