What gas fitting

Hi,

We have just purchased a new built in double oven electric cooker, which also came with a free gas hob. I have installed the cooker without any problems. I have been compating the existing hob to the new one and found that the pipe connectors are different.

The existing hob has a connector with an external thread. The pipe work (15mm) terminates in a soldered on connector with a nut which is then screwed directly to the hob.

The new unit has a connector with an internal thread. I have measured the diameter and it is .5 inches. I have had a look on screwfix but cannot find anything that looks like it would be suitable.

Anyone know where I can get this type of connector ?

I plan to put in line a shut off valve, so that any future work will just involve isolating the hob, rather than having to shut off everything in the house from the main shut off point outside.

And remember to keep the receipt that was issued to you by the fitter himself or his company invoice. This also helps in times of insurance claims.
