Oh yes. My nice 2was living in a very nice thank uyopu new s'estate'; full of young couples

"Spot the HB families in the 'social housing'" she said.

Sure enough two satellite dishes per house, uncut grass littered with broken toys. Curtains still drawn at midday.

Good post. But pointless. Those who think you can have a wonderful standard of living on benefits will still hold that view - even if people were dying in droves of starvation.

Yes. The OAP in the UK is based on previous contributions.

Trying to get some perspective into it.

A single mum with baby can live the life of riley on benefits, according to many on here. The OAP is slightly higher - so it follows an OAP couple can live the life of riley too, purely on the OAP. I'd love to see those who think they can actually do it...

You are assuming child benefit is vastly more than the actual costs of a child. I'd love to see you prove this.

You need to get out more.

In London and other UK cities where housing is at a premium, private landlords let to those who can afford the best rent. Not to the most deserving, or whatever.

Do you know many 8 year olds that get hard ons?

What's wrong with doing it in a bus shelter (unless she is 15)? I have done it in a cinema.

I did. I remarked on it to my mother, who was highly amused.

Mind you I had no idea what to do with it, or what prompted its arrival. Even though the girl next door but three used to remove her underpants.

It reminded me of my sisters at bath time. A complete turn off.

Timing is everything ,late when the likelyhood of a bus turning up unexpected was long custom and practice . Doing it on the way home from school at the start of the rush hour is asking for attention.

we have a communal dish

someone comes in to cut the grass

as I would fall over them on my way down the stairs, I would be forced to clear them up (thought AIH there aren't any)

You would say that about my property.

It's dark when I leave for work and the last thing I have time to do in the morning is to go around opening the curtains on rooms which are empty all day

that wasn't the claim

the claim was they could live better than on the minimum wage job that they are likely to end up on (even after having to pay for the kid's needs)

Reply to

In fact no one here has made that claim. In some cases the potential claimant may think they can, and then discover they can't (or it's a lot harder than they thought). But it's too late by then.

No, there are limits to which the age difference applies.

can you link to a few or at least one.

In london some agentsw are asking for 6 months deposit. Some agents ask portentail renters for guarantors who must provide 3 months of bank statments and that was just to allow them to view the property and put in an offer.

Which is a bit of a problem if living on 'benefits'

Even the cards you see in a corner shop window advertising bedsits etc, usually say 'No DHSS'
