Waste stop ends

Can you get compression fit stop ends for 1.25" or 1.5" plastic waste pipe? I've looked on Screwfix and Toolstation's web sites & wandered around Wickes and Homebase (it's next door, OK?) but I can't see them, despite being convinced that they exist.

Oh, and what's the solvent for the solvent weld stuff? Do they sell it in tubes from the Usual Places?

From the pong, it's a ketone but I guess that as with Airfix glue it has the polymer dissolved in it.

In tubes or small cans with a brush in the lid for application.

Do your 32 & 42mm stop ends not fit?

You need to look for a blanking plug, I suspect. They certainly exist, and fit onto an exiting 'end' that has the compression ring and seal. Remove ring and seal, fit seal to plug, fit into pipe and replace the ring.

Note that there are different solvent weld products for ABS and PVC. One "wrong" combination sort of works, the other isn't so reliable. No idea which way round!

"Socket plug"? No wonder I couldn't find them.

Well, quite. I needed some a few years ago, so found them this time by searching my confirmation emails. How I found them back then I do not know!
