Right, so we may well get a new washing machine. Existing one has a solid rectangular top, and the stacking kit for the tumble dryer fits it nicely.
Most new washing machines seem to be not well-designed for having something stacked on them:
1) Front lip is "styled", usually a gentle curve.2) More styling - front lip slopes down.
So, the tumble-dryer stacking kit will, at the front, touch the top of the washing machine at one point, in the middle. Further, the front lip seems to be flexible plastic, and since the stacking kit is supposed to clamp to the washing machine by screwing in from the back, screwing it up to grip the front is gonna be problematic.
Only idea so far is to pack the front of the stacking kit to match the profile of the washing machine top edge, using that draft-excluder rubber strip stuff. That would at least distribute the load.
Anyone else had this problem & if so what did you do?
