Wardrobe earthquake detector

And where was the earthquake caused by Buncefield?

That did wake us up - despite being twenty or so miles away.

It woke us too. Any advance on 28 miles?

BTW I can imagine a bomb triggering a quake which was going to happen soon anyway. I can't imagine one actually causing one.

FWIW, we have a quake detecting TV.

Umm no, I don't sit waiting for a news bulletin, the TV is on a cabinet in one of the bedrooms, it's a Sony Trinitron portable and if there's a quake the TV wobbles slightly on it's foot. If it is close to the wall we get a low frequency knocking as one corner taps the wall.

It has worked for all the recent UK quakes, including the one under the Channel. I didn't notice anything for the Haiti quake.

40-odd miles. It woke me up - I thought one of the kids had fallen out of bed.
