Can anyone please tell me what type of paint is used on the outside walls of houses like that used on terraced houses in Liverpool.
It is usually red and is a very thick consistency.
Thanks.

Ah - you need Fernox for that ...
Either red masonry paint if you want a matt or sand textured finish, or gloss if you want it shiny. The gloss needs something under it if the bricks are porous, like masonry paint or undercoat, if they are stock bricks they can be glossed straight away, although pick a cool dry day with no wind.
Following on other comments, are you sure that they are painted?
Older style houses in Liverpool, Manchester, Southport etc. are built from a very attractive glossy faced brick with a finish more like a shiny tile than the rougher faced bricks generally used in most of the country.
If it is paint, then Dulux Weathershield is a pretty good thick paint; no idea if they do it in red, though.

Red Brick Masonary paint, dont buy the matt as it looks sh*ite and will lower the tone of the neighbourhood. ;-) You can buy it also in bottle green which looks better than red brick.
ps basically its floor paint which is used in the large factories.
