Vacuum cleaner, bagless

After reading the Dyson thread I thought i'd ask.

I have a machine with a vaccum attached for dust extraction. Problem is it is American and I can only get bags from the machine supplier.

Is there a bagless cylinder machine I could replace it with? I have my DC01 attached at present but it is on its last legs and im sure it isnt happy running for hours per day. I want something bagless as it fills up quickly.

Google for "diy cyclone".

Then you can add just about any reasonably powerful vacuum source and it'll spin out the vast bulk of the dust before it gets to the sucker.

There is bagless & bagless. Dyson doesn't have a bag, but most vacs can be used with a permanent filter to trap the dust instead of a disposable paper bag. You can also use an interceptor - a drum & lid with hose inlets & outlets that will collect the bulk of the dust before it hits the filter.

might give some ideas.
