I'm planning travertine or a ceramic tile floor for a kitchen that's approx 6m by 3m. To take the chill off, I'm also looking at wet underfloor heating.
By the time any wall units etc. are taken into considration, the area covered works out at about square meters. I understand that this makes it expensive for the area involved, but it will suit the room.
I have flow and return pipes to the kitchen that used to service two radiators (1 for the kitchen itself, and one for the small room it opens into). These pipes will only service the underfloor heating. I'm planning to put the zone heating valves etc. at the end of these pipes (obviously) and this will mean that the whole shooting match will sit inside a base unit at approx. half way down the longest wall.
Are there any obvious problems with this plan? From the literature I read this is a reasonable location, but I haven't got a good idea how bulky these valves etc. are, and if it will destroy a base unit to accomodate it. Also I'd guess I can put a controller on the wall above the worksurface?
