Timers for ceiling lights

Anybody recommend a solution thats *easy to fit* that turns ceiling/wall mounted lights on and off at timed intervals when you're away on holiday, for example?

Cheers

You can get a timer to replace the wall switch. Most DIY places seem to sell them. Simple to fit. But will only work with "normal" light bulbs, not fluorescents or compact fluorescents.

You can get ones that fit into the lampholder themselves between the bulb and fitting. Probably available at your local diy store. ..
