the right tool for the job?

i have just joined this site and hi to everyone.

i need advice on plastering,i am working on a room and nearly finishe skimming it with plaster,i have one wall left to do where the doo frame is and it is 4 inches away from the next wall,area to small fo my trowel to fit so what do i do,what tool would i need to skim thi area.

your help will be much appreciated

A smaller trowel? You can get corner trowels, which look like a float that has been bent at 90 degrees down the length, but they are not usually as large as 4" on a side.

Hi Colin - also, it's a "newsgroup" (unless you're posting from some webby thing).

Remove the architrave, make sure the casing's flat and smooth, use your ordinary float.
