SWIMAT beep codes

My Siemens washer (6102) has become temperamental today.

For example, ending a wash cycle early with a 6-beep code and a rinse cycle early with an 8-beep code. Have never had the instruction book, and can't find the codes online.

Re-pressing 'Start' forces it to continue from where it left off, but why was it unhappy?

Ideas anyone?

I've already looked through several such fora with no luck.

And I've never had such a forum answer any specific question I've posed, so very reluctant to sign up to Yet Another One.

Hoping someone here had an instruction book, or remembers what the beeps mean.

Is this page any use?

Get your e-number and then go to "instruction manuel" (sic).

Looks promising, but my E-NR produces no results, either in full: WE61021GB/01, or any subset I've tried. Indeed the whole site has no hits for 6102 (the model number on the front).

I've always had good and quick responses to questions I've posted on there...

Did you include the next 6 figures in the code (the FD number) as shown in the example?

No, but adding it doesn't help.

I've struggled through the top-heavy registration process, posted a question, and hope I get replies than the last person who asked about Siemens error codes.

I just ignore them on my Panasonic, I'm sure they must mean something but as long as the clothes are clean and semi dry, its fine by me. These, are they standard through the industry, or just manufacturers. The only time its malfunctioned was when I was out so I never got to hear the beeps in any case. My mind told me that the wet load was unable to balance for the fast spin, as removing some and doing two spins fixed it. Brian

The problem is, I don't want to have to keep going back to the washer four or five times per load, to restart it. And the normal "three beeps" when it's finished are bad enough, but "eight beeps" repeating over and over is already driving me mad.

My dishwasher beeps repeatedly when it's finished too - which is a real disincentive for starting it running when going to bed.

In that case I would email Siemens and check obvious things like partially blocked drains, buttons in the pump etc.

ps. What is the FD number (just in case anyone else can get it to work)?

I've just reconnected it to a brand new and absolutely not-blocked drain. Might check the button trap, but it seems to be pumping out OK.

FD8008 (plus maybe 00015).

Sounds most likely if it's happening near the end of different cycles, when it's trying to empty.

Might be a stupid comment but could it be trying to remind the user to do something maintenance-related like clean the filter and won't carry on with the cycle until the user acknowledges it by pressing the "start" button?

I had a coffee machine that did that, it had an internal counter so it knew when it needed rinsing, when the filter and bin needed cleaning/emptying, when it needed descaling, and adamantly wouldn't let me make any more coffee until I'd done it. You actually had to physically pull the filter and bin out and back in, or run the inbuilt clean/descale program before it would re-set and do what it was asked. Too clever for its own good.

Doesn't anyone have a Siemens manual, at all? The codes are quite likely to be shared with other models.

It's a pity no-one actually knew what code-1 meant, and how was that conveyed to the user: One beep? Or is it something on the 2-character display (mine only beeps).

The one answer I have so far says: "I don't think any such list exists", which seems incredible. German efficiency producing a machine that beeps messages when something's wrong, and there's *no* list of what they mean??

Is there nothing relevant on the display, or any light sequence?

The only display is the count-down timer, and I think that either changes to 0 or 1, but reverts to the correct partway-through-time when you [re-]press 'start'.

The light for the part of the cycle it's on at the time (wash, rinse) is flashing.

I'll do another load later this morning and take better notes. (I thought the beeps would be sufficient to identify what it thought was wrong, but it seems no-one knows what they mean).
