Sun tunnels- any good?

Hi, I am building a windowless bathroom between two bedrooms. As an alternative to just ventilation I am considering a Velux Suntunnel with internal LV lights and an internal extractor. Has anyone seen/fitted one of these. Do they give good light and extraction et. Thank you

I've seen something similar used on Grand Designs.

It was rubbish.

No idea about ones with lighting and extraction but when i've seen suntunnels in use i've been very impressed with them. I'd definitely try to use them if i were building a windowless bathroom.

They are good, but I wouldn't bother with a bathroom. They will act as a tunnel extracting heat as well. A bathroom is a room tyat is occasionally used, so the odd light being used is not that much and you save heat being extracted too.

So have I.

Me too. I'd like to use them anywhere.

Overhead lighting is so obvious ...

I have been impressed - better than expected. Can;t comment about LV and extractor.

Damn right. Avoid these nasty leaky rooms altogether. I'm sure you've found somewhere else to store the coal and the hacksaw.

Wish I'd thought of that!

That explains everything.

Are you still keeping the coal in the bath?

I haven't seen a coal man for years. Do they still deliver coal?

There one round here - services Ironbridge and Madeley. I reckon the parish council encourage coal fires so the place smells authentic.

No, they now deliver letters and parcels. This has made them almost indistinguishable from postmen - which is probably why you haven't noticed one recently.

Do they offer grants for people with indoor plumbing to install outside privies?
