Strange tap behaviour.

A friend has a recently installed B&Q wash basin with a combined hot and cold tap. When the cold tap is turned off, after about a minute, a small spurt of water issues forth. Any idea of possible reason, and perhaps a cure please?

Buy another design of tap would appear the only solution or fit a different shape of delivery pipe to the tap body.

The spurt is the water retained in the delivery pipe being released, probably after warming up to room temperature.

My bath mixer tap does that. I guess the water in the large curved spout suddenly releases, something to do with temperature or air being dissolved etc. Nothing you can do about it really. Simon.
