flex outlet?
Orientation lug so you don't fit it upside-down...
... I'll get my coat.

I hadn't thought of that and I bet you're right. They're just light switches, perhaps it's all he had with him at the time. It also might explain why he hasn't bothered to screw them up.
They are 20A double pole switches made by CLICK - trading name Scolmore.
They are the 20A double pole switches with a flex outlet (as Charles correctly pointed out). They look similar to the CLICK switched fused spurs with flex outlet in this picture
Cable exit, if they were being used to switch a fixed appliance that doesn't draw much.
Why not show from the bottom in photo?
That appears to be confirmed by the photos showing both live and neutral going to them.
(Well, red and blue, could well be red supply live and blue switched live.)

Red and blue?
Bugger. Brown and blue. I looked at the photo and though "oh, live and neutral, new colours", closed the photo and the typed it up without it in front of me. You don't really need to know the exact colours of wiring, 'cos it's in front of you when you need to know it, so it prompts you by it's physical presence. Red and not-red, Blue and not-blue.
